Day 14 - Daily Task - The Mother Of All Tasks!

After 3 roller-coaster weeks, we have finally reached the end of the game!

Today's Daily Task marks your final opportunity to pick up points before the Grand Prize Draw and, oh boy, you can seriously pick up a nice amount of points today!

In this video, Debbie and Dudu provide an important summary of events to date and you'll find out just how they went about designing today's task!

So, as Debbie and Dudu explained, this final task is worth 12 points and is made up of 6 fun mini-tasks! It is designed to remind you of some of the best (and most frustrating) challenges that you may have completed over the past 3 weeks. It is hosted on a tab on our Facebook page and can be found here!

This really is your last chance to collect the points that will give you the best possible chance of winning the incredible Grand Prize of a trip to a Limmud event of your choice, anywhere in the world, so take it slowly and make the most of this opportunity.

Of course, there is also one final Daily Prize up for grabs! Today's prize is a fantastic gift  - the stunning Summer Selection Gift Box from Negev Nectars! Negev Nectars is the initiative of ROI Community member Jeffrey Yoskowitz. It is a gourmet food company, that sells the finest sustainable produce sourced from the Negev desert and, perhaps most importantly, provides valuable support to Israeli farmers. It will be awarded at random to someone who plays today's task.
Don't forget that for your points earned today, or from any previous day, to be counted towards the Grand Prize Draw, you must have registered for the game, which you can do here.

Day 13 - Daily Task - Rhinoceroses On Ice Skates?!

Welcome to the penultimate day of the ROI Scavenger Hunt! The excitement is continuing to soar as the Grand Prize Draw rapidly approaches!

One of the questions that we are asked most regularly by people that we meet is 'What does ROI stand for?'.

Well, as many of you may know, ROI is a common business term, which stands for 'Return On Investment'. It refers to the 'achievement of a desirable outcome as a result of wise investment', which is essentially exactly what ROI Community is!

Over the years we have heard many imaginative and amusing guesses of what ROI stands for. Today we asked Debbie, Dudu and a couple of their higher-profile friends what they think ROI stands for, and this is what they said...

For today's Daily Task, we want you to come up with an amusing alternative for what the letters R-O-I could stand for!

Your answer needs to be posted on the ROI Community Facebook wall and, simply by posting an answer you will earn 4 Scavenger Hunt points.

For today's game, there are also some bonus points to be earned:

1) If your answer is one of the 10 that make our resident comedian, Dudu, laugh the loudest, he will award you an extra 2 points!

2) If, in addition to posting your answer on Facebook, you also tweet your answer, and include the hashtag #ROIScavengerHunt, you will be awarded an extra 1 point! (If you didn't give us your twitter name when you registered, please email scavengerhunt@roicommunity.org to let us know which Twitter name you have used.)

So there is a maximum of 7 Scavenger Hunt points to be won today!

And of course, there is a Daily Prize to be won today too. Today's prize will be awarded at random to 3 people who play today's Daily Task. As you may have seen earlier on the blog, we have a number of super-talented musicians amongst the ROI Community. One of them is the world famous Jewish hip hop artist Y-Love.

Today's Daily Prize is a copy of Y-Love's amazing album, 'This Is Babylon'.

Good Luck everybody!

Day 12 - Daily Task - Dudu's Tennis Tantrum!

Hello Scavenger Hunters!

It's Day 12 of 14 and things are really heating up now! It seems that many of you found yesterday's challenge very tough so hopefully you'll make up some of your lost Scavenger Hunt points by successfully tackling this task.

On Sunday we found out that Debbie wanted Dudu to play tennis with her. Well they actually played together this morning, so let's find out what happened...

So, it seems Dudu needs some cheering up and Debbie is going to provide him with his favorite breakfast, just as soon as you work out what it is that he would like! The following 2 clues will help you to find the answer and, once you have it, send it in an email to scavengerhunt@roicommunity.org.

Clue 1.

Below is a 'Letter Drop' grid. Each letter needs to be dropped somewhere into the column that is immediately below it, in order to form a sentence in the black and white grid below. Once each letter has been correctly placed, you will have created your first clue.

Clue 2

Your second clue is a Sudoku puzzle but, instead of using the numbers from 1 to 9, you need to use the letters A, B, E, N, R, S, T, W & Y!

Once you have completed the Sudoku, you must read the letters in the 10 shaded squares, from the top downwards, to create your 2nd clue. When combined with the 1st clue, you will then have enough information to solve today's task.

Remember, your answer must be emailed to scavengerhunt@roicommunity.org.
As always, there is a great Daily Prize to be won and today we will be selecting 5 people at random, from those who correctly complete today's task, to each receive a $20 voucher to spend at Amazon.com.

Good luck everyone!

Day 11 - Daily Task - The Extreme Food Game!

Welcome back to the game!

It's Day 11 on the ROI Scavenger Hunt and the Grand Prize Draw is getting closer!

As you may have seen on the blog earlier, the theme of the day is food! For today's challenge, your task is to identify ten common food items from extreme close-up photographs!

The game will be played on a tab within the ROI Community Facebook and you can find it here. Once you enter the tab, you will be presented with 10 extreme close-up photographs like this one.

Under each one, you will find a drop-down menu with four options from which to select the correct answer. You will receive one Scavenger Hunt point for every two correct answers that you submit but, if you correctly identify all 10 pictures, you will receive a bonus of two points, meaning that a total of 7 Scavenger Hunt points can be won!

As always there is also a great Daily Prize to be won. As you may have read earlier, a great number of ROI Community members are involved in food related initiatives. One member, Ofer Vardi has released a number of iPhone and iPad apps aimed at promoting Israeli cuisine and he has recently brought out a his first cookbook. 'Israel To Go' presents kosher Israeli cuisine with recipes and artwork solicited via crowd-sourcing and we are delighted to have five copies of the book to give away. They will be awarded randomly to five people that play today's game.

Good luck everyone and check back later for the correct answers!

Day 10 - Daily Task - Dudu's Dating Game

Hi everyone!

Welcome back to the game! Today is Day 10 on the Scavenger Hunt and the start of the third and final week of the game! You have just 5 more days in which to collect as many points as possible, before the Grand Prize Draw, when one of you will be winning the trip of a lifetime!

So, without further ado, let's hand over to Dudu to present today's Daily Task!

So, Debbie gave Dudu with 2 clues, both of which have left him a little confused.

Here's clue No. 1. To Dudu, it just looks like a list of numbers but maybe you can make some sense of it?

And here is clue No. 2. Debbie said that it is a picture of her two all-time heroes. Dudu thought that was a weird thing to say, when she only gave him a photo of one person, who seems to be a rather strange looking woman...

So those are the clues that Debbie gave Dudu. Can you work out where she wants to go? once you have worked out the answer, send it in an email to scavengerhunt@roicommunity.org.

Today's Daily Task is worth 3 Scavenger hunt points and, as always, there is also a great Daily Prize to be won.

Today, two people picked at random from those who answer correctly, will each win a $25 voucher to spend at Amazon.com!

Good luck everyone!

Day 9 - Daily Task - Spot the Difference!

Welcome back everyone,

Today's game takes us all back to our childhoods... I mean, who didn't enjoy playing Spot the Difference puzzles as a kid, right?

Look at the 2 pictures below. The first is a real photo taken at this year's ROI Summit. The second is the same photo with 11 differences. Some of the differences may be obvious and easy to find, whilst others are pretty subtle and will require eagle-eye concentration to find.

You will see that there is a grid over the picture. Once you have found the differences, enter their grid co-ordinates into the form below.

For every 2 differences you find, you will be awarded 1 Scavenger Hunt point, meaning that there are a total of 5 points to be won if you find 10 or more differences.

And, as always, there is a great Daily Prize! 3 people, picked at random from everyone who finds at least 10 differences, will receive a bottle of fine Israeli wine delivered to their door!

Don't forget, to have the chance to win prizes, you must have registered for the game, which you can do here.

Day 8 - Daily Task - Pictogram Puzzles

Welcome to Day 8 of the ROI Community Online Scavenger Hunt!

Today's Daily Task will help you to get to know some of our ROI Community members!

In June of this year, ROI held its annual Summit in Jerusalem, where 150 young innovators came together to sharpen their skills, discuss their ideas and develop new collaborations.

A list of the Summit participants can be found here. You will need to use this list to complete today's Daily Task.

Below are 10 pictograms, each of which represents the name of one of the participants on the list. Once you identify the 10 Summit participants from the pictograms, take the specified letter from each answer and rearrange them to form the last name of an 11th Summit participant. Send that name to scavengerhunt@roicommunity.org.

It's a real toughie today, so all correct answers to the Daily Task will earn 7 Scavenger Hunt Points! Don't forget, to be eligible to earn points, you must first register here.

Here goes...

For Today's Daily Prize, 3 lucky people will be selected at random from the correct entries, to win a free T-Shirt from NU Campaign.

NU Campaign is the initiative of ROI member David Kramer. It aims to raise awareness for important causes through the sale of unique designer T-Shirts. Check them out at http://www.nucampaign.org.

Good luck everyone!

Day 7 - Daily Task - Take The Olympic Challenge!

Hi everyone and welcome back to the game!

The 2012 Olympic Games are now well under way and, combined with the excitement of the Scavenger Hunt, we're all feeling our competitive juices flowing!

At the recent ROI Summit, comedian Benji Lovitt joined forces with a host of other ROI Community members to create our very own ROI Olympics:

Today's Daily Task is inspired by Benji and is designed to bring the comedian out of all of you! It is also another Daily Task with different grading levels. The more daring you are, the more points you'll earn.

The task is simple... tell us the funniest (clean) joke that you know!

To earn the points, you simply have to submit your joke as a post on the wall of the ROI Community Facebook page. But here's the deal... If you simply write your joke on the wall, you will earn 2 points. But , if you post a video of yourself telling your joke, you will earn 4 points

That's 4 points just for telling a joke! This offers a great opportunity for some of you to boost your points tally and significantly increase your chances of winning the big prize.

If you're lacking a little inspiration, here is a short video of Dudu sharing his favourite joke:

There is also, of course, a Daily Prize to be won today! Benji Lovitt recently collaborated with fellow his ROI Community member, David Kramer at NU Campaign, to produce his own range of T-Shirts. The 'Yiyeh B'seder' range celebrates the unique Israeli attitude of optimism in the face of adversity!

The 3 people who make Dudu laugh the hardest will each win a t-shirt of their choice.

Good luck everyone and remember to keep it clean!

Day 6 - Daily Task - Hide and Seek!

Welcome back to the game, everyone!

Today's challenge is a little tougher than usual so there are a huge 7 points up for grabs!

Without further ado, let's turn to Debbie and Dudu to hear about today's Daily Task.

Today's theme is Jewish entertainers and as you heard in the video, you will need to solve the following clues in order to find the website where Dudu is hiding on the internet!

Clue 1

Below are 10 famous Jewish entertainers and each has been paired with their favorite website. Below the pictures are 9 statements, each of which is linked to one of the people. Use the statements to eliminate those 9 people and you will be left with one person and their favorite website. This will give you your first clue as to Dudu's whereabouts!

1. Eliminate the person who played a wizard in 8 movies.
2. Eliminate the person who is Kate Hudson's parent.
3. Eliminate the person who is 'Clueless'.
4. Eliminate the person who was born in Israel.
5. Eliminate the oldest person.
6. Eliminate the person whose real last name is Pincus.
7. Eliminate the person who has won exactly 2 Oscars.
8. Eliminate the person whose first and last name rhyme with each other.
9. Eliminate the person who is half Danish.

Clue 2

Use the following code to solve the second clue, which should be enough to help you find Dudu. Once you have found Dudu, he will tell you how to claim your 7 points.

Good luck, everyone! As always, check back later for the correct answer.

In keeping with the theme of Jewish entertainers, today's Daily Prize is a full set of DVDs of the 4 Israeli movies that received Oscar nominations for Best Foreign Language Film in the past 4 years: 'Beaufort', 'Waltz with Bashir', 'Ajami' and 'Footnote'.

This amazing prize will be awarded, at random, to one person who successfully completes today's Daily Task!

Day 5 - Daily Task - Face Merge Challenge!

Today we commemorate Tisha B'Av, the saddest day in the Jewish calendar.

Whilst Jewish people are fasting all over the world, today's Daily Task looks at some of the great Jewish leaders from across the generations.

Today's task takes place on a new tab on our Facebook page. Click here to be taken straight there.

You will be presented with 5 pictures, each of which has been created by merging the faces of two well-known Jewish leaders. These leaders could be from a variety of fields, from Politics, to Sport and Entertainment. Here is an example...

After each picture you will be given 4 possible answers to choose from and for each correct answer, you will earn 1 Scavenger Hunt point, meaning that a total of 5 points can be earned today! Click here to play today's task now!

*Please note that unfortunately today's Daily Task can not be played on most mobile devices.

As always there is also a great Daily Prize on offer: We will pick 3 people at random from those who earn 5 points in today's task and each will receive a $25 Amazon voucher!

May we merit this Tisha B'Av to see beyond the many differences that  divide us and instead focus on what good we have in common and hopefully by doing so, we will merge from a scattered people into "one".

Today's Daily Task is our first graded activity, meaning that the better you perform, the more points you earn! This is a great chance for those people who have less points than they'd like to do some catching up!

Debbie and Dudu have taken their favorite vase and stuffed it full of Israeli candies. Your task is simply to guess how many candies they managed to fit in.

Click here to see a clearer image of the candy-packed vase on our Facebook page. Enter your guess as a comment underneath the picture on Facebook, not here on the blog.

If your guess is within 10 of the correct answer, you will earn 5 points.
If your guess is 11-25 away, you will earn 4 points.
If your guess is 26-50 away, you will earn 3 points.
If your guess is 51-75 away, you will earn 2 points.
If your guess is 76-150 away, you will earn 1 point.

Today's Daily Prize is a $75 iTunes voucher! It will be awarded to the person who guesses closest to the actual number of candies in the vase. In the event of a tie, the prize will be split equally amongst all winners.

Good luck and don't forget to check back later to find out exactly how many candies are in the vase!

Day 3 - Daily Task - Bill Clinton Day!

It's Day 3 of the ROI Community Online Scavenger Hunt!

As you may have seen on the blog earlier, Bill Clinton has been a source of support and inspiration to a number of our ROI Community members.

So when the Scavenger Hunt hosts, Debbie and Dudu, just happened to bump into Bill in the street, they were only too happy to let him introduce today's Daily Task! Watch this video to see what happened...

Today's Daily Task is to work out what Bill Clinton's favorite Israeli food is, based on the clues he gave in the video.

Once you think you know the answer, head over to the ROI Community Facebook Page where we have uploaded 4 photos of popular Israeli foods.

To earn the 2 Scavenger Hunt Points, leave a comment stating YOUR favorite Israeli/Jewish food on the photo of the food that you think is Bill Clinton's favorite!

Today's Daily Prize is a delicious gift box from Max Brenner Chocolates, worth $50! It will be awarded to the person who suggests the most delicious Israeli/Jewish food item, according to Debbie & Dudu!

Day 2 - Daily Task - ROIers around the World

Welcome to Day 2 of the game! Today's Daily Task is a celebration of the truly global nature of ROI Community!

Did you know that we have members in over 50 countries, in 6 continents! At the 2012 Summit alone, the 150 participants represented a total of 29 different countries, all of which are hidden in the word-grid below.

So why, you may ask, are there 30 countries listed under the word-grid? Well we have inserted one bogus country into the list. That country was not represented at the Summit, nor does it actually appear in the word-grid.

To complete today's Daily Task, simply identify which of the listed countries does not appear in the word-grid! When you have the answer, send it in an email to scavengerhunt@roicommunity.org.

Today's Daily Prize is a $50 voucher for Amazon.com! It will be awarded at random to one player that successfully completes today's Daily Task.

Good luck everyone!
