Day 7 - Daily Task - The Answer

The Daily Task for Day 7 is now closed!

Well done to everyone who submitted a joke and especially to those of you that were daring enough to make a video!

Your jokes were hilarious and Debbie and Dudu have been in stitches all day.

Come back soon to see the latest scoreboard and to find out which 3 jokes have been picked by Dudu as worthy of winning the Daily Prize, a Benji Lovitt T-Shirt!

Day 7 - Daily Task - Take The Olympic Challenge!

Hi everyone and welcome back to the game!

The 2012 Olympic Games are now well under way and, combined with the excitement of the Scavenger Hunt, we're all feeling our competitive juices flowing!

At the recent ROI Summit, comedian Benji Lovitt joined forces with a host of other ROI Community members to create our very own ROI Olympics:

Today's Daily Task is inspired by Benji and is designed to bring the comedian out of all of you! It is also another Daily Task with different grading levels. The more daring you are, the more points you'll earn.

The task is simple... tell us the funniest (clean) joke that you know!

To earn the points, you simply have to submit your joke as a post on the wall of the ROI Community Facebook page. But here's the deal... If you simply write your joke on the wall, you will earn 2 points. But , if you post a video of yourself telling your joke, you will earn 4 points

That's 4 points just for telling a joke! This offers a great opportunity for some of you to boost your points tally and significantly increase your chances of winning the big prize.

If you're lacking a little inspiration, here is a short video of Dudu sharing his favourite joke:

There is also, of course, a Daily Prize to be won today! Benji Lovitt recently collaborated with fellow his ROI Community member, David Kramer at NU Campaign, to produce his own range of T-Shirts. The 'Yiyeh B'seder' range celebrates the unique Israeli attitude of optimism in the face of adversity!

The 3 people who make Dudu laugh the hardest will each win a t-shirt of their choice.

Good luck everyone and remember to keep it clean!

Day 7 - Meet The ROIers - Olympic Fever!

The 2012 Olympic Games are now in full gear and we're all consumed by Olympic Fever!

Today we're highlighting the work of two social entrepreneurs who use sport as a vehicle for change.

Melisa Goldfinger works as Executive Co-ordinator of Heme Aqui, a school of life for people with special needs, where the game of golf is used as a tool for education and integration. The organisation created 'golf-therapy', a state of the art methodology to achieve inclusion of people with special needs in society by developing their self-esteem, sense of belonging and their physical, mental and social skills.

In 2007, Dina Buchbinder-Auron founded Deport-es para Compartir (Sports to Share), a civic and educational program that teaches children about values and important global issues through games and sports. Over 32,500 girls and boys have participated in this unique program.

Day 6 - Daily Task - The Answer

The Daily Task for Day 6 is now closed!

It seems many of you found today's puzzle a little harder than usual so let's go through it together...

First you had to eliminate 9 of the 10 Jewish entertainers. Here is the order in which they were to be eliminated:

1. Eliminate the person who played a wizard in 8 movies. DANIEL RADCLIFFE
2. Eliminate the person who is Kate Hudson's parent. GOLDIE HAWN
3. Eliminate the person who is 'Clueless'. ALICIA SILVERSTONE
4. Eliminate the person who was born in Israel. NATALIE PORTMAN
5. Eliminate the oldest person. WOODY ALLEN
6. Eliminate the person whose real last name is Pincus. BARRY MANILOW
7. Eliminate the person who has won exactly 2 Oscars. BARBRA STREISAND
8. Eliminate the person whose first and last name rhyme with each other. JACK BLACK
9. Eliminate the person who is half Danish. SCARLETT JOHANSSON

That left you only with SACHA BARON COHEN and his favorite website, which was Flickr.

Using the code given to solve clue No.2, you were given the following message:

GO TO THE SECRET WEBSITE AND SEARCH FOR "DUDU'S HIDING PLACE".

So, you needed to go to Flickr.com and search for "Dudu's Hiding Place". If you did that, you were greeted by the following picture of Dudu.

So, to complete the task, you needed to send an email to scavengerhunt@roicommunity.org, with "I love Dudu!" in the title!

Well done, to everyone who successfully completed the task. You all truly earned your 7 points! To everyone else, don't worry, there will be lots of opportunities to catch up in the coming days.

So check back shortly to see your current standing on the score board and to find out who won today's fantastic Daily Prize, a full set of the 4 Israeli movies that have received Oscar nominations for Best Foreign Language Film over the last 5 years.

See you all soon!

Day 6 - Daily Task - Hide and Seek!

Welcome back to the game, everyone!

Today's challenge is a little tougher than usual so there are a huge 7 points up for grabs!

Without further ado, let's turn to Debbie and Dudu to hear about today's Daily Task.

Today's theme is Jewish entertainers and as you heard in the video, you will need to solve the following clues in order to find the website where Dudu is hiding on the internet!

Clue 1

Below are 10 famous Jewish entertainers and each has been paired with their favorite website. Below the pictures are 9 statements, each of which is linked to one of the people. Use the statements to eliminate those 9 people and you will be left with one person and their favorite website. This will give you your first clue as to Dudu's whereabouts!

1. Eliminate the person who played a wizard in 8 movies.
2. Eliminate the person who is Kate Hudson's parent.
3. Eliminate the person who is 'Clueless'.
4. Eliminate the person who was born in Israel.
5. Eliminate the oldest person.
6. Eliminate the person whose real last name is Pincus.
7. Eliminate the person who has won exactly 2 Oscars.
8. Eliminate the person whose first and last name rhyme with each other.
9. Eliminate the person who is half Danish.

Clue 2

Use the following code to solve the second clue, which should be enough to help you find Dudu. Once you have found Dudu, he will tell you how to claim your 7 points.

Good luck, everyone! As always, check back later for the correct answer.

In keeping with the theme of Jewish entertainers, today's Daily Prize is a full set of DVDs of the 4 Israeli movies that received Oscar nominations for Best Foreign Language Film in the past 4 years: 'Beaufort', 'Waltz with Bashir', 'Ajami' and 'Footnote'.

This amazing prize will be awarded, at random, to one person who successfully completes today's Daily Task!

So in the end, Debbie got to decide and she went for her personal favorite, the Israeli breakfast, as suggested by...

Daniel J. Sieradski

Debbie said "There is nothing more typically Israeli than the Israeli breakfast. It is so healthy and refreshing! The best possible way to start the day!"

Once you think you know the answer, head over to the ROI Community Facebook Page where we have uploaded 4 photos of popular Israeli foods.

Day 3 - Meet The ROIers - Bill Clinton Day

On this day in 1994, Former President Bill Clinton presided over the signing of the Washington Declaration, which heralded the start of negotiations between Israel and Jordan, culminating in the signing of a peace treaty in October that same year.

Since leaving office in 2001, Bill Clinton has involved himself in various issues of global importance, and a number of our ROI Community members have been lucky enough to meet and gain inspiration from him:

Shawn Landres is the CEO of Jumpstart, a research & design laboratory that the Jerusalem Post declared had "changed the global converstaion about Jewish innovation". Shawn earned his footnote in history when he suggested what went on to become the theme tune to Bill Clinton's 1992 presidential campaign, Fleetwood Mac's "Don't Stop" (Thinking About Tomorrow).

Eli Winkelman is the founder of Challah for Hunger, which brings people together to bake and sell challah, to raise money for good causes. After presenting Bill Clinton with a foil wrapped challah, Eli merited a mention in Clinton's book "Giving: How Each of Us Can Change the World".

In 2007, she founded 'Deport-es para Compartir' (Sports to Share), a program that uses sport to teach children about important global issues and values.

Ilja Sichrovsky is the Founder and Secretary of the Muslim Jewish Conference (MJC). The third annual MJC was held in Slovakia earlier this month. The conference hosted 106 interfaith young professionals and students, 46 of whom are Muslim, 51 Jewish and 9 from other faiths.

The country that was neither represented at the 2012 ROI Summit, nor did it appear in the word-grid, was NORWAY.

As many of you pointed out to us, NORWAY did nearly appear in the grid! See below...

Welcome to Day 2 of the game! Today's Daily Task is a celebration of the truly global nature of ROI Community!

Did you know that we have members in over 50 countries, in 6 continents! At the 2012 Summit alone, the 150 participants represented a total of 29 different countries, all of which are hidden in the word-grid below.

So why, you may ask, are there 30 countries listed under the word-grid? Well we have inserted one bogus country into the list. That country was not represented at the Summit, nor does it actually appear in the word-grid.

To complete today's Daily Task, simply identify which of the listed countries does not appear in the word-grid! When you have the answer, send it in an email to scavengerhunt@roicommunity.org.

Today's Daily Prize is a $50 voucher for Amazon.com! It will be awarded at random to one player that successfully completes today's Daily Task.

Good luck everyone!
